Cummins Turbo - Emissions related

Dont rule out the Turbo and CAC Leaks for possible causes of aftertreatment concerns. Either can give you poor performance, black smoke, low MPG and after-treatment failures.

Exhaust from the street view...

You can have all the aftertreatment you want, but some basic exhaust requirements remain the same.
The exhaust has to be able to flow,,,, this exhaust damage is actually very common, another note, the exhaust tis are specific to each manuafacturer and need to be in like new condition due to the way they disperse the heat. We are talking about temperatures in the 1700* area.

Maxxforce Engines and Fuel Dilution?

Have been collecting, reviewing oil sample data from a group of buses with the Maxxforce International engine, 2009 buses. Fuel dilution in every bus is 6% or greater with services being done at 1/2 the expected cycle. To keep the fuel dilution below 4% this customer would have to service their engine every 3 to 4,000 miles. Anyone else seeing these kinds of results? What about your other engines?
